Why Listings Need Plenty of Photos and Video

Should a realtor display lots of pictures and video online of a home they are selling, or should they limit the content online to encourage people to visit the home in person?

Absolutely. In today’s market, holding back photos or video doesn’t create curiosity, it creates doubt. Buyers in Southeastern Massachusetts and pretty much everywhere else start their search online, usually on their couch or kitchen table with a cup of coffee. If the listing doesn’t show enough of the home to help them understand the layout, the light, and the overall vibe, they’ll just keep scrolling.

Plenty of high‑quality photos and a solid video tour don’t replace an in‑person showing. They earn the showing. When buyers can picture themselves in the space before they ever step foot inside, they’re far more likely to book an appointment, show up excited, and come in with a stronger sense of value. Limiting content online doesn’t drive more traffic through the door. Strong, transparent marketing does.
